Chard B 2
Okehampton A 5
ON a sunny Saturday morning Okehampton A started well with good work rate, but could not make the passes.
After 10 minutes of constant pressure Okehampton broke the deadlock with an excellent reverse goal from Josh Balsdon.
Straight from the restart Okehampton retained the pressure and within minutes, Tim Morgan put Balsdon through; Balsdon beat two players and slotted it calmly past the keeper. The home side came back and created scoring chances, but came up against good defence from Ian Miller, John Yells, Luke Liversidge.
However, Chard eventually made the breakthrough so the visitors went into the break 2-1 up.
Okehampton kept up the the pressure in the second half. The play was more open and flowed well with good chances coming from both sides.
It was Okehampton who scored through Jake Lloyd; straight from the restart Okehampton had a short corner which Lloyd also put into the back of the net. The visitors once again let off the pressure which led to a series of Chard attacks and short corners with Hayden Bond producing some superb saves before from one of many short corners Chard scored. This woke Okes up and from another short corner Lloyd drilled the ball into Balsdon who found Stuart Jarvis on the post to tap in.
This was a good all round performance from Okehampton.
