IS anyone else having trouble with the new recycling collections?

I live on Prospect Hill in Okehampton, and for the last five weeks I have had to phone West Devon Borough Council to tell them that the recyclers have missed our road — again.  Every time they promise it will be sorted and won't happen again, and every weeks they miss us again.

I understand that they are hoping to save £1 per household per month with this new collection scheme, and yet I have heard of recycling operatives being out and working at 10pm!  How much does all this cost? Surely it can't be a saving?

And I should imagine that somebody is having to run around town collecting all the bits that are missed, so surely this is an extra cost too?

How about having some common-sense and going back to the old system? And how about collecting our recycling on the proper day instead of leaving it to blow around in the wind for a couple of days?
