OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held its Centenary seniors three ball open competition earlier this month.

With wonderful weather and competitors coming from more than 20 different golf clubs everything was set for a great competition.

The overall winners with an impressive 83 points were Clive Yeo, John Haley and Richard Goodger from Okehampton. Second overall was T Kerridge, B Webber and C Macklin (Sidmouth) with 80 points.

First visitor prize went to D James, P Howard and S Lewis (Launceston/Crediton) with 75 points.

Best combination went to J Leonard, F Ward and C Pagent (Okehampton/Woodbury) with 75 points and first Okehampton was awarded to Bob Collett, Alan Jones and Rod Jones also coming in with 75 points.

On Saturday brought the culmination of the club's successful Centenary Week.

A large field of members started the day with a Greensomes Stableford competiton which also included several spot prizes.

The winners with 48 points were Harry Hawking and Martin Cox, closely followed by Rob and Linda Walker who were second with 45 points.

Third place went to Richard Johnson and Sue Stanbury with 43 points.
