TWO players from Okehampton made quite an impression in The Devon County Junior Table Tennis Championships in Plymouth.
Edward Haskell, age 13 and who attends Okehampton College, played in the U18s mixed double where he and his partner finished runner ups. He then competed in the boys U18s doubles and won this event too. He was also runner-up in the U15s age group and third in the U18s. He finished the day by reclaiming the Devon County U13s championship which he has won for three years. Edward plays for the South West squad and is currently ranked 11th in England.
His sister Emily , age 9, also competed at the championships. She played well and finshed runner-up in the U11 girls catergory. This saw five of the Devon titles and trophies returning to Okehampton with the young Haskells.
