OKEHAMPTON seconds played Cullompton at Oaklands on a blustery day with occasional showers rushing across the firm pitch in the increasingly strong breeze.

The Okehampton team started strongly and were prepared to play an open, running game which proved to be an entertaining spectacle for the small home crowd.

With the home pack dominating, they secured a large amount of possession, and with the backs running strongly, the team soon started to rack up the points, scoring seven tries through Laurence, Horn, Francis, Luke Honeychurch, Pillivant and Rory Honeychurch (2) with fly half Luke Simmons slotting six conversions to run up a total of 47 points.

Strong tackling in defence snuffed out any attempts the Cullompton side made to cross the home line, though the visitors did get a second half penalty to make the final result 47-3 to the home team and to round off an excellent afternoon for the club.
