POLICE in Okehampton are asking people to report incidents of dangerous driving in Mill Road, near Okehampton College.

‘There are a large number of pedestrians that use the pavements around the location, which includes children and people with poor mobility,’ said PCSO Lisa Smith.

‘Police would like to remind the public that this is a busy road which has a 20mph speed limit, which is in force for good reason. As well as being a busy road, it is narrow in places, with a sharp bend, lots of houses adjoining it and lots of junctions with other roads.’

She urged anyone seeing incidents of dangerous driving to make a note of the time, with vehicle registration number and description, and report it to the police promptly.

‘If this information is reported at the time of the offence, it is more likely that officers can catch up with the driver of the vehicle soon after it is committed,’ she added.
