OKEHAMPTON Police are warning residents to be vigilant against fuel thieves after around £1,000 of fuel was stolen from a property at Germansweek.
At some time during the hours of darkness, most likely between 11pm on Saturday, December 10 and 6am on Sunday, December 11, a large quantity of heating fuel, thought to be as much as a thousand litres, was stolen from a tank at a home in Beaworthy. The theft happened not long after the oil was originally delivered.
The police advise members of the public to be vigilant and to ensure that any fuel tanks they own are adequately secured. This applies to outbuildings, sheds and any other property which contains valuable items.
