A SERIES of assaults and an attempted burglary at Castle Ham Lodge feature in this week’s Okehampton area crimes #newsfromtheblues

POLICE are appealing for information following an assault involving children in Okehampton.

It was reported that children left Simmons Park and were followed by two older male teenagers who used threatening language and kicked one of the children in the ankle a few times by Endacotts Bakery in East Street, Okehampton. Police said that the teenagers filmed some of the attack.

The incident happened between 4pm and 4.05pm on August 25. Witnesses are asked to come forward. CR/072354/17.

• Witnesses are being sought by police after a male offender slapped a female and used threatening language whilst outside Wongs Fish Bar on East Street, Okehampton, on August 25 between 4.30pm and 4.50pm. CR/072353/17.

• A juvenile was reported to have hit another female to the face several times at 5.15pm on August 25 whilst at North Street, Okehampton. CR/072373/17.

• Police are appealing for witnesses after a female was assaulted by another female who hit her in the face three times with a belt at Giblands Park, Okehampton, on August 23 between 1.30pm and 2pm. CR/072372/17.

• Police breathalysed a woman on the B3215 in Okehampton on August 31 between 12.10am and 12.23am and gave a reading of 105 — the limit is 35. When at custody, the woman gave a breathalysed reading of twice the limit. CR/074243/17.

• A Karder Hydro Tip 2000, which had been left secure and unattended, was stolen from a layby by the Rising Sun in South Zeal on August 31 between 5am and 6am. A padlock was removed and the trailer stolen. CR/074383/17.

• Police are appealing for information following an attempted burglary at Castle Ham Lodge, Castle Road, Okehampton, between midnight on August 21 and 23.59pm on August 29. CR/074667/17.

• A rear window of a car parked at Metherell Farm, Halwill, was smashed using a brick, from 8pm on August 26 to 11am on August 29. CR/073690/17.
