IN this high scoring game in which 558 runs were scored in less than 80 overs, with Chagford emerging the victors by five wickets. 

Cornwood batting first lost an early with Thomas bowled by Whittingham for nought.   However number three Phil Bees stood firm and partnerships with Kidd (50) including seven fours and two sixes, A Richardson (23), C Horton (32) and D Petherbridge (35no), enabled Cornwood to amass 278 in 40 overs.  Phil Bees was there at the end with a deserved century including 15 fours. Paul Penberthy  was the most sucessful of the seven Chagford bowlers used with 2 for 76.

Chagford started badly losing Sugden and Paul Penberthy for ducks in the first over, and Pork Ralph followed soon after. Dave Penberthy restored some family pride and in partnership with opening bat Roger Whittingham put on 119 for the fourth wicket before he departed for 36. 

The arrival of Rob Gofton provided some quick fire runs with his 43 including 8 fours before he retired 'hurt.' This brought Joshi to the crease for another quick partnership with Whittingham who was run out for 91.   Josh (36no) and skipper Snell  4no saw Chagford home with five wickets to spare. Cornwood also used five bowlers with M Rose outstanding with 3 for 29.
