THE ever popular Okehampton and district's Guy Fawkes night 'Sticklepath Fireshow' will be proving it has more than one string to its bow when it runs 'Crafty Capers' in the summer holidays once again.
This year's creative workshop sessions will be held from August 20 to 24 in a marquee at South Zeal Recreation Ground.
There are ten sessions throughout the week with the workshops culminating in the fashion show being held on August 25 from 2pm.
All ages are welcome, from toddlers just wanting to paint and glue, to the over 80s wanting to make that fabulous costume they have always dreamed of.
Everything is provided under the watchful eye of the fireshow's artistic director Hilary Gillespie.
Along with Hilary a team of volunteers await to lend a helping hand to encourage and guide crafters to come up with and create fantastic design ideas.
There are two sessions per day from Monday to Friday, running from 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm, with each session costing £2 per person. Sessions can be booked individually or for the whole week.
This year's categories for the show include a garment made from waste, depict a bug or insect and characterise something found at the seaside. What is assured is a fun and creative time where people can learn new crafty skills or improve on ones they already know.
Organisers ask that anyone under 10-years-old should be accompanied by a responsible adult and those over 10 should get a parent/guardian to complete a registration card at or before the first session.
Booking is not essential but is recommended in light of last year's numbers.
