UNBEATEN pre-season Okehampton went into the hockey game full of confidence for their opening league game.

They were soon on the attack with Brett Lawson at centre forward going close. The first goal came when Greg Williams found James Rogers who converted the pass.

The hosts inability to defend led to an unusual second for the visitors. Lawson's superb run and pass was touched on by Mark Parsons and the home side's goalkeeper watched the ball go in.

Minehead's defence was again shown up when from a short corner Nick Luxton was unchallenged, his shot beating all four defenders and goalkeeper as the away side extended their lead.

Oke found a forth before half time, man of the match Greg Williams coolly flicking the keeper after Parsons short corner was parried by the keeper.

The hosts had one attack in the first half but keeper Andy Harvey's sliding tackle stopped them before the half time whistle.

The second half continued in the same pattern as Minehead tried to put players behind the ball to keep the visitor's from piling up the scoreline. However, Simon Bourne took it round the keeper to score before Parsons also beat the keeper to score from an acute angle.

Rogers got his second to round off another impressive display and Joff Stephens rounded off the scoring, tapping the ball home after a good cross. .
