THE Rotary Tea Party held at Okehampton College last Thursday was an extra special event for Dollie and Tom Kingman, who were celebrating their diamond wedding.

More than 100 senior citizens attended the event and after the tea they were entertained by Brian Hedgley on guitar, who sang a medley of songs old and new, and Margaret Weeks with her Devon poems.

Rotary president Allenton Fisher said: 'A sincere thank you for all at Okehampton College for hosting the event, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

'Not only do the senior citizens enjoy the event but so do the students of the college and it's good to bring old and young together in this way.'
