Drivers face long delays in both directions on the A386, Tavistock Road, in and out of north Plymouth, where a vehicle has broken down on the road.
The road is partially blocked in the roadworks area between Woolwell roundabout and the George junction.
There are reports of queues between two to three miles southbound (from the Yelverton direction) and two miles northbound, with delays of nearly 45 minutes to one hour in the area. Minor roads are also heavily congested with drivers trying to bypass the main road hold-ups.
Traffic monitor Inrix reports: "A386 Tavistock Road in both directions partially blocked, severe delays due to broken down vehicle between Woolwell roundabout and B3432 Morgan Road (George junction). Congestion to almost three miles southbound (50 minutes), and two miles northbound back to the Derriford Roundabout (40 minutes). In the roadworks area."
