Tavistock Musical Theatre Company have delved into their archive to bring back a popular pantomime by popular demand when they tread the boards in November.

The well-regarded company, who last year delighted Tavistock with their sellout production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are staging Jack in the Beanstalk at Tavistock Town Hall in November.

Join Jack and his mum in their family-run Dairy Farm, where business is down, there’s taxes to be paid and there’s nothing left to do but sell Buttermilk the cow at Windy Bottom Market. Oh, and to top it off, there’s a giant in the sky, terrorising the town!

But when some magic beans take root, an adventure starts to grow. Will Jack find the courage to climb to Cloudland, outwit the ferocious giant and save the town before it’s too late? This nail-biting drama is coming to your town hall soon. Tickets are going fast, so book now to avoid crushing disappointment.

The Tavistock Musical Theatre Company has endeavoured to bring new talented cast to this year’s production including the very grumpy and bad-tempered giant, Buster Gut-Bucket – Don’t expect him to give you his autograph – he’s more likely to stand on you or put you in a pie.

The baddies abound and are very dark and slimy, sometimes green, but there is also our hero Jack, his dear mother, the dignified but voluptuous Dotty Dimple, his sharp-as a-tack brother, Silly Simon and a scattering of royalty, fairies and assorted farm animals to defend, bemuse and confuse in abundance.

A panto spokesperson said: “Expect laughter, toe-tapping tunes, and a happy-ever-after in this GIGANTIC festive family pantomime. It’s the unmissable, magical adventure you’ve all BEAN waiting for!

“Fee fi fo fum, To the box office off you run. Be ye young or be ye old, Buy your tickets now before they’re sold!”

Jack and the Beanstalk is on at the Tavistock Town Hall between November 18 and 22.
