An 80-year-old farmer has died after being trampled by a cow on her farm, an inquest was told today (Wednesday, August 19).
Jennifer Uglow, of West Balsdon Farm at Whitstone near Holsworthy, was rushed to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital following the incident on July 29 this year.
The farmer, who was born in Cornwall, suffered multiple injuries to her chest and was treated in the hospital's intensive care unit.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned at Devon Coroner's Court in Exeter and area coroner Alison Longhorn said that sadly Mrs Uglow died from her injuries on August 9.
Miss Longhorn said the cause of death was respiratory failure caused by chest wall trauma.
