THE Victory Hall in South Zeal will be full of early Christmas cheer on Saturday, with a Christmas craft and gift fayre.

Starting at 10am and running until noon, the fayre gives visitors the chance to find some unique gift ideas for the holiday season, and enjoy a cup of tea and cake.

There will also be a raffle with prizes including tickets to Dartmoor Zoo, Powderham Castle, the Miniature Pony Centre and more. The event is to help raise money for the 1st South Zeal Scouts.

Jackie Keegan, who helping to organise the event, said: 'We are really excited about this fundraising event to help raise much needed money for 1st South Zeal Scouts.

'We have recently gained planning permission for an extension and improvements to the scout hut. This eventually will mean that the children will have better facilities, including a new kitchen, a shower, male and female toilets, disabled access, a new craft room and a new equipment store.

'We already organise a number of fund raising events during the year to help purchase equipment and other things needed for the group. We now have a new goal and fund-raising is now even more important.'
