FROZEN pitches in Simmons Park resulted in both Okehampton Argyle first and third team matches being postponed on Saturday.

Club secretary Charlie Bond said: 'All teams have suffered in the past two months due to the bad weather, but the firsts have been the most affected with only one match played in December and one in January.

'To compound matters, next Saturday's Peninsula League match away to Callington has had to be postponed, as Callington must play their Cornwall Senior Cup match - called off last Saturday also due to a frozen pitch. This means that the firsts will not play again till Saturday, February 5 when they are home to unbeaten league leaders Camelford – a really tough test for Argyle with only two games in two months as preparation.

'Argyle have several games in hand on other teams in the League but will find themselves playing up to four games a week in April to complete their fixtures.
