PEOPLE in Okehampton will be able to share their experiences of autism with professionals looking to create an autism strategy for Devon. Healthwatch Devon and the National Autistic Society are working in partnership to hold a series of workshops across the county in May and June to involve adults with autism and their carers in the development of an autism strategy for Devon. The events act as an opportunity to share experiences, both good and bad, and help Healthwatch Devon understand what is needed to improve autism support and services in the future. The findings will be fed back to Devon County Council in an effort to raise awareness of the condition in the county. The Okehampton event takes place on Wednesday, June 11 in the Ockment Centre from 10.15am to 12.30pm.
