Okehampton’s RAF air cadets have been awarded a £500 grant by Okehampton Town Council to pay for two new flight simulators.

The flight simulators will be used to train the cadets to fly before they are legally allowed to train in a real plane.

The cadets already have some simulators but due to the length of time needed to teach a cadet and the number needing to be taught, more of the machines are needed, at a cost of over £2,000 each.

The air cadets is the RAF’s training corps for young people in Britain. It has thousands of members from across the UK between the ages of 12 to 20.
