A SUNNY day greeted everyone at the Sampford Courtenay Family Dog Show on May 4.
An enthusiastic group attended the show, although there were fewer entries than in previous years. Vet Bryony Herrod-Taylor judged the competition, and commented on the good condition of the dogs competing.
The best pedigree dog was judged to be Kerry Stoneman's Chocolate Labrador Isaac.
After the pedigree classes came the fun classes, including the dog with the waggiest tail, and the dog that looked most like its owner. Among the highlights of the day was junior handler Orla Pease, with her Shetland Sheepdog Benji.
The event raised £350 for the village hall, raised through the dog show and raffle, cream teas and car boot sale.
The village hall committee expressed thanks to sponsors Courtenay Kennels, Mark Hedges Construction, W J Morris and Sons, the New Inn, Marshall Joinery, R J Taylor Transport, Mole Avon, Cornwall Farmers and H J Ward.
