THE annual Okehampton skate competition ‘Skate Jam’ is due to take place this Saturday (July 2).

The extreme sports event has been running in Okehampton for more than ten years and is part of the Okehampton Sports and Fitness Festival (for more information read page 42).

Registration begins at 10.30am at Okehampton Skatepark and competitors can sign up on the day. There will be food stalls, music, a skate roulette and a raffle.

Attendees can enter in the under 16 and over 16 category for skating along with other competitions including ‘best trick’.

Prizes include skateboard decks and goods.

The event is run in association with OCRA (Okehampton Community Recreation Association), Active Devon and Youth Work in Devon.
