A TALENTED athlete from Okehampton College has gained a reserve place in the International Multi-Event, which will take place at the end of the year.
Sixth form student Rebecca Chapman, who this summer became Devon champion in the 100 metres, javelin and 80 metre hurdles, also competed in the English Schools Multi-Event Championships.
She also participated in the UK School Games in Cardiff and came sixth in the 80-metre hurdles.
The English Schools Multi-Events Championships took place on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20.
Rebecca completed the 200 metres in 25.6 seconds, 800 meters in 2.39 minutes, and hurdles in 12.08 seconds.
She scored throws of 32.20 metres for javelin and 9.28 metres for the shot putt, which ensured she finished in a high position.
She also achieved 1.54 metres in the high jump and 5.25 metres in the long jump, which contributed to her end result.
Rebecca finished overall in fifth place, with a total of 4,498 points, which resulted in her achieving the national standard of points in this competition.
