ST JOHN Ambulance Okehampton division will open its new headquarters next week, heralding a new era of youth training in the town.

Under the leadership of badger leader Karen Sawyer-Coles and divisional superintendent Dot Kaines, the new 'badger set' for younger children will be open on Wednesday, July 7.

The team hope to enhance the future of the brigade in Okehampton by bringing in younger children from the age of five.

As a badger, children will be able to learn first aid in a fun setting, while also learning personal skills that will enhance their futures, both educationally and socially.

The times for the different sections are as follows: badger set from 5pm until 6.15pm, cadets from 8.15pm until 7.30pm and adults from 7.30pm until 9pm.

St John Ambulance as a charity is solely supported by charitable donations and have been working hard towards creating a bright future for the division within the town — any donations are always gratefully received.

As a division, Okehampton are looking for new members, both adults and youths.

The division meet on a Wednesday evening at their new headquarters on the Exeter Road Industrial Estate, next to Kevin Cooper Motor Factors.
