NEW club officers and leaders were appointed at the recent annual meeting of Okehampton Young Farmers' Club (pictured).
The club held its 70th annual meeting at Meldon Village Hall, where speeches were given by club president Ruth Maile, club leader Sandra Heard and chairman Graham Francis.
Members elected new club leaders: club president, Ruth Maile; and vice presidents Maria Cooper, Dudley Luxton, Frank Ward, William Dunn, Stuart Luxton, Ken Heard, Dan Luxton.
New officers and leaders were also elected at the event.
As well as the recent annual meeting, the club organised a charity talk last month, inviting a representative from Devon Freewheelers to tell them about the work the charity does in the county and surrounding areas, transporting blood via motorbike.
The club then presented Nick from the Devon Freewheelers with a cheque for £500.
Okehampton YFC is gearing up to celebrate its 70th anniversary next month, by holding a dinner and dance on Saturday, November 22.
Taking place at Lifton Farm Shop and Restaurant, the evening will start at 7pm and will continue until 1am.
Tickets for the event, which includes a three course meal, a talk from guest speaker Caroline Trude, professional photography by Emily-Fleur as well live music, cost £25 but will increase to £30 after October 24.
