CADETS from 2443 Okehampton Squadron have recently been given the opportunity to go gliding with the Devon and Somerset Gliding Club.

Three cadets were chosen; Corporal Robin Dalton, Cadet Sam Palmer and Cadet Charlie Thompson. Although two of the cadets had been gliding before, for Cadet Thompson it was his first gliding experience. When asked what he thought of his twenty minute flight he said: ‘It was brilliant.’

Flt Lt Andy Oliver, OC 2443 said: ‘It is so great that after a pause in gliding we are now starting to get opportunities to fly our cadets again. More flights are planned for later this year.

‘My thanks to all the hard work behind the scenes and to Devon and Somerset Gliding club for making this happen.’
