Stagecoach has announced changes to the 118 and 317 bus routes from August 30 to ensure there are public transport links to both Okehampton stations.

The 118 will no longer serve Okehampton Station and will instead serve Okehampton Interchange. Okehampton Station will be served by the 317 Bideford-Okehampton bus.

The changes will reassure residents and visitors that both stations will have bus links into the town centre.

Earlier this year, Michael Ireland, the chair of OkeRail, had raised concerns that the cessation of the 118 service to Okehampton Station would make it harder for people to access the station while Cllr Terry Cummings voiced worries that one bus route serving both stations would increase congestion in the town.
