POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault that took place outside the Fountain Inn, Okehampton, over the weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday, March 1, two males were assaulted, one of whom received serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police are aware that a crowd had gathered outside the pub at that time and are hoping there would have been witnesses to this serious incident.

Anyone with any information, even if you were spoken to by attending officers at the time, who could offer any information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact PC 1312 Northcott on 101, quoting crime reference number JO/14/167.

Police are keen to prevent offences of this nature and are urging the public to support them in this.
