TWO pupils from South Tawton Primary School had their winning road safety design put up in Sticklepath last week.

Ella Thomas and Katherine Petch, both from Year 6, won the competition, which involved pupils designing a road safety sign.

Headteacher Heather Poustie said: 'A police community officer asked the children to make a design for Sticklepath village. We had a fantastic response from the pupils and around 100 entrants for the competition.

'We do encourage the children to walk to school but with the villages having such narrow roads, it's really important in our community that people slow down.'
