FIREFIGHTERS extinguished a car fire last Thursday (March 27) on the A386 at Sourton Down.

One fire crew attended just after 1.20am and found the car severely damaged by fire. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus sets and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.

Police also attended and confirmed the fire had been started deliberately.
