Chagford and District Business Association has launched its new destination website 'Visit Chagford'.

The website, supported by West Devon Borough Council, aims to provide a wide range of useful information to help visitors plan their stays in the area, highlighting accommodation and attractions on offer.

There is also a calendar of events, including the film festival, the carnival and the new literary festival ChagWord.

The website has a 'Things to Do' section, offering a variety of outdoor pursuits for all ages, including bird watching, cycling and walking. The site also promotes Chagford's history, independent shops and galleries.

Neil Tappenden, one of the driving forces behind the website, said: 'We want visitors to be able to plan and get the most out of their visit to Dartmoor and Chagford really is the perfect base.

'It's also an exciting destination for a day trip with lunch, walks and shopping, all steeped in history. We are confident that the new website will help us attract new visitors all year round.'

To deliver the website on time and on budget, Chagford and District Business Association put together a team of specialists to ensure the site launched to schedule earleir this month.

As part of its new digital marketing strategy, Visit Chagford has also launched new Twitter and Facebook pages. The website is at http://www.visitchagford.com">www.visitchagford.com
