TO welcome the Olympic torch relay to Okehampton, Parklands Leisure Centre is offering a range of sporting activities on Sunday May 20 to raise money for WheelPower, the centre's chosen charity.
The activities are designed to encourage families to enjoy sport by raising money for Paralympians and promote wheelchair sports. There will be plenty of family activities such as swimming, tennis and badminton.
Badminton sessions will be available from 12.30pm to 5pm, and all of the day's events will cost only £2, with every pound being donated to WheelPower.
All families who join in on the day will be entitled to a free day swim or gym pass, and will be given the chance to enter the prize draw to win a free annual pass.
Jon Smith, contract manager at Parklands, said: 'We are delighted to be hosting a range of sporting activities to celebrate the Olympic torch relay and we're proud to support WheelPower once again.
'The day is set to be a huge success and there are some great prizes to be won, so we hope to see some new and existing faces throughout the day.'
