TRAINS are currently unable to run on the Dartmoor Line between Exeter and Okehampton due to severe weather from Storm Austen.

Disruption is expected until 2pm.

“Strong winds increase the risk of trees and other debris falling on to the railway,” a spokesperson for Great Western Railway said.

“Train services between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton have been suspended.

“If you have a ticket for a journey before 1pm today within, to or from Devon and Cornwall, you may use it on any train, on the same route, today.

“After 1pm, if your train is cancelled, you can travel on either of the two trains immediately before or after your booked train.”

Replacement coaches are running between Exeter St David's, Okehampton Interchange and Okehampton, in both directions.

“Please be aware that the replacement transport may be delayed owing to the weather causing poor local road conditions,” the spokesperson continued.

“If you are travelling between Crediton and Okehampton stations, please travel via Exeter St David's.”
