Lewdown firsts v Kenn

LEWDOWN were in emphatic form on Saturday against visitors Exeter side Kenn easing home to a 94 run victory.

The home side posted a total of 210-6 thanks mainly to a sterling 78 from Charlie Hughes, who was backed up by contributions from Keith Maynard on 45 and Tom Pengelly with 25. The best of the Kenn bowlers were Lyle Muir 3-31 and O Gannon 2-41.

Although not a large total to chase Kenn were blown away for 116 with the home bowlers sharing the honours – Harry Williams 3-17; Nicholas Smith 2-10; David Ball 2-21 and Tom Madge 2-11. Only Peter Chislett with 48 gave the bowlers any real problems.
