Devon and Exeter League division three

Chagford 5

Langdon 0

CHAGFORD ignored their weather enforced break and swept into Langdon from the first whistle.

The hosts could have been two goals ahead before Andrew Davis broke through to slot the ball home in the fifteenth minute. Alex Norman and his defence were largely untroubled. The return of Mark Williams and the inclusion of Richard Sampson helped to add some strength and stability.

Man of the match Reuben Sampson saw a lot of the ball at the front and was duly rewarded with a goal on the stroke of half-time.

Langdon brought themselves back in contention at the start of the second half, with the home defence being made to work. That changed in the 57th minute with Sampson setting up Robbie Miller, who saw his initial shot parried but remained calm to tap in the rebound.

Norman pulled off a good save soon after, preserving his clean sheet. It was Sampson who settled the match, in a three minute spell that saw him selflessly set up Adam White and then Davis to put the finishing touches to a good day.
