A BRENTOR army cadet has successfully completed a top level national cadet course.
Grace Frankland has completed and passed her Master Cadet Course at Frimley Park Cadet Training Centre in Surrey, from Sunday, August 2 to Friday, August 7.
The Master Cadet Course is the highest level of training for a cadet and requires a formal recommendation at county level to attend the course.
At 16 years old, Grace was one of the youngest cadets on her intake. The course involves demanding physical and mental challenges, including obstacle courses, log runs, fieldcraft, navigation, platoon attacks and tactical briefings. Passing the course is tough and requires high levels of communication, leadership and emotional resilience.
The previous weekend Grace, who is a Cadet Sergeant with Devon Army Cadet Force, also completed her first solo static parachute jump from 4000ft with the Army Parachute Association.
When not parading and taking part in military activities, Grace is the singer with local band What? Based in Tavistock who performed at Devon County Show on the BBC Radio Devon stage and supported Horce Divorse at the Wharf in Tavistock in May.
