Meldon Wildlife Festival will return this month for an action-packed day celebrating Dartmoor and its wildlife.

The free event, organised by Dartmoor National Park, is set for August 18 at the Meldon Old Quarry and will run from 10:30am to 4pm. A wide range of family-friendly activities are planned, including arts and crafts, nature walks, interactive displays and a pine marten picnic.

Andy Bailey, Dartmoor National Park’s outreach and engagement officer, said: “This year's festival is going to be a fun and inspirational day out that celebrates some of the many reasons that contribute to Dartmoor's designation as a National Park.”

It is just one of the events being held throughout the year to mark 75 years since Dartmoor was designated a national park.
