The A3124 near Summers Moor Cross, Winkleigh, will be closed overnight for resurfacing works for two nights next week.

Closures will be in place from 7pm until 7am on the evenings of Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 February. There will be no works during the day.

The scheme will cover around 400 metres of the A3124 near Summers Moor Cross, just south of Winkleigh.

There will be a signed diversion in place during the overnight closures via the A3124 to Winkleigh, the B3220 to Down St Mary, the A377 onto Copplestone, followed by the A3072 to Bow and then back to A3124 just before you reach Sampford Courtenay. The diversion will be the same in the opposite direction.

A Devon County Council spokesperson said: ’The signed diversion is only a recommended route using roads of equal category where possible and motorists with good local knowledge may use alternative routes.

’Access to properties within the site area, during the working hours, may be granted in exceptional circumstances after liaison with the on-site foreman. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

’The scheme is dependent on the weather which may impact on the duration of the work. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption.’
