FIRE crews are still damping down at the scene after tackling a fire in an outbuilding at Leat Road near Leat Mill, Lifton this afternoon.

The fire occurred around lunchtime and three crews attended, two from Cornwall and one from Okehampton.

The large shed on fire measured 10 metres by 10 metres and contained a butane gas cylinder and some petrol cans.

A spokesman said the fire was now out but two crews were continuing to damp down the scene and make sure it was safe.

Crews also attended a fire in the brake system of a lorry in Lifton this afternoon.
