THE members of Clawton Young Farmers' Club have been hard at work raising money for charity.

On Wednesday May 6 the group presented two cheques for £750 each to RABI and FORCE Cancer Charity. This money was raised from the events throughout the past YFC year, ranging from a dung run to the annual summer ball.

This was a great success for the club, as within the year a further £500 was raised also for FORCE from a sponsored cycle that was held across 24 hours of Holsworthy Show.

This year the club are looking to raise funds for the Long House Appeal and the New Devon YFC Building.

The club's main event of the year is their summer ball being held on Saturday, July 18.

The club have been busy throughout the last few months competing in pantomime and county pub sports, sausage making, flower arranging, go karting and sports evenings.

Members have also held a successful comedy afternoon in conjunction with Holsworthy Vintage Club.

Clawton currently has 42 members ranging from 14 to 26 who have a busy time ahead with entries for Devon County Show.
