Chaddlewood Miners 3

Horrabridge Rangers 3

PLAYING with only 10 men, Horrabridge will wonder how they didn't leave Chaddlewood with all three points.

Horrabridge dominated possession in the first half but their final ball was always poor.

Chaddlewood scored three times in the first half with their only three strikes at goal, one a penalty and the other two courtesy of a good free-kick and a super strike from 25 yards.

The second half was all one way traffic as Horrabridge stepped up a gear and started to play some good football but were finding it hard to beat the Chaddlewood goalkeeper who was having the game of his life.

With 10 minutes left Josh Birch broke the offside trap and placed his shot in the bottom of the goal and minutes later Max Burgess produced a trademark thunderbolt from 25 yards to put Horrabridge right back in the game.

Both Oliver Cox and Josh Birch thought they had then equalised as they both hit the woodwork within minutes of each other. With the game nearly over Josh Birch was sent racing clear by Aaron Johnson and he calmly beat the keeper from 16 yards to earn his side a point. Horrabridge player of the match was Josh Birch.

Tavistock Thistles

U13s 10

Torpoint Athletic YFC 1

Thistles showed great spirit to put the previous two defeats behind them and gained their best win so far this season.

The previous meeting between the teams had been close so Thistles knew they would have to play well to get anything from the game.

The home side started strongly and came close to scoring several times but Torpoint kept them at bay for 20 minutes.

Finally Thistles pressure produced a goal with player of the match Toby Scanlan getting his first of eight goals. Just a minute later Scanlan scored again before Torpoint got a goal back. This seemed to galvanise Thistles and Harry Miskelly got Thistles third with Scanlan adding two more before half time.

Torpoint then withstood another attacking display for 15 minutes until Scanlan scored his fifth and Tom Keane scored his first of the season.

Scanlan added three more as Thistles showed no sign of complacency. Only an injury to Arran McDowall marred what was otherwise an outstanding performance by the whole team.

Tavistock Town U12s 4

Activate Youth  U12s 2

TAVISTOCK Town took the lead after 10 minutes when George Mitchell took his chance and scored his 11th goal of the season.

However this was short lived as Activate hit back with two quick goals to take the lead with  one of the goals being volleyed home by Ben Conally.

Town thought they had levelled when a good header by Reece Watters off a corner hit the post.

Player of the match Teigan Rosenquest had the ball in the back of the net three times in the first half only to have two disallowed for offside but his individual run and cool finish levelled the scoring making it 2-2 at half time.

The second-half saw plenty more action from both teams but it was Town's Harry Rawlinson who was first to score giving Tavistock a 3-2 lead,

Activate nearly levelled with a shot which fell just wide but were unable to break down Town's defence lead by on-form Thomas McMahon.

The final goal came five minutes from the end and was created by some good football and teamwork by Town which led to Rosenquest grabbing his second.
