A £3,000 CHEQUE has been presented to Iddesleigh charity Farms for City Children from Zurich Insurance.

The picture shows Roger Dunn of Zurich Insurance handing the cheque to Barry Searle, farm manager at Nethercott House to help support the work of the charity. Also pictured are Stuart Coles, deputy farm manager and Hilary Bruce, farm teacher.

Farms for City Children allows children from schools in towns and cities all around the country to experience a week of 'muck and magic' on one of three working farms. They learn about the importance of caring for animals and the land and about where their food comes from.

Mr Dunn, who occasionally used to work at Nethercott Farm as its electrician, said: 'I learned how much the work they do at Nethercott benefits the children who come here, and now that I work for Zurich, I was able to nominate this deserving charity to the Zurich Community Trust and am delighted that the trust agreed to help me support them.'
