AS North Tawton Bowling Club awaits the start of its 2019 summer season the work and events do not stop for the winter.

After its annual meeting the chairman is again John Kinsey and the first lady ever as overall club captain is Jan Summers and the ladies’ captain is Pam Davis. Steve Adams is fixture secretary and Gordon Denham continues as secretary.

The club’s Pub Fun Day raised a huge amount of revenue while another men’s over 60s team has entered into the popular Exeter League.

Life membership was awarded to Robert and Margaret Arscott for all their hard work over many years.

A coffee morning in the town hall plus quiz evening in the club raised £1,000. President Mike Thwaites said that would will not stay long in the coffers as the club have to spend on the green £4,500 in drainage, edging and seeding as well as a new mower.

The provisional date for opening the green for the summer season is Saturday, April 12 – open to all with new and old members welcome.
