Lewdown v Plympton

LEWDOWN defeated Plympton in a game athat saw the momentum switch between the sides and which was in the balance until the penultimate over of the game.

Plympton batted first and made a solid start scoring 40 for the loss of one wicket after the first ten overs.

Lewdown then applied the pressure to reduce the visitors to 109-5. A tidy spell resulted in two wickets for Billy Searle. Plympton then roared back into the match as Ali Imran Pasha and Jeremy Williams shared a century partnership and the visitors eventually posted 240-7. Leon Horn picked up 63-3.

After tea Lewdown started steadily, reaching 84-1 before Horn and Searle were dismissed in quick succession to give Plympton the intiative.

However, the second century partnership of the game saw Harry Geering and Johan Wessels take the score to 72 giving Plympton a glimmer of hope.

It was Wessels, though, who saw Lewdown home with an over to spare. Wessels finishing unbeaten on 126.
