DESPITE many players being unavailable Okehampton still managed a victory against Witheridge at Simmons Park.
James Williams, pressed into goalkeeping duties following Lewis Slade’s departure to Bovey Tracey, marshalled the defence well and made several important saves with borrowed gloves. Two goals from Ben Bickle and singles from George Walsh, Kian Burns, and Redd Cann secured the result.

OKEHAMPTON Argyle held runaway league leaders Elmore to a draw with George Walsh scoring on 31 minutes and Elmore equalising just before the break.
The Okehampton defence held up well in the second half to earn a deserved point.

ARGYLE Reserve team player manager Steve Madge had to turn to the veterans to help make up a team for the away match at Cheriton Fitzpaine.
With the first team taking several of their normal players, the reserve team ran out at Witheridge with an age range of 16 to 47. This blend of youth and experience worked well and Rich Wonnacott opened the scoring with a headed goal from a Yannick Ebner flick on.
Captain Ben Mitchell then scored a headed goal to make it 2-0 and followed it up with a 25 yard thunderbolt which will be a contender for goal of the season. Goalkeeper Denzil Dennis only had one real save to make in the whole game.
Okehampton reserves remain top of the league with six games left to play although Thorverton are only a point behind and have three games in hand so could still overtake them.
