OKEHAMPTON MEN’S FIRSTS 3

DART MEN 2

RIGHT from the start Okehampton piled the pressure on to the visitors which resulted in Luxton skilfully dribbling the ball into the attacking D and drilling his shot into the back of the net.

A sharp attack from Dart caught the Okehampton defence off guard and they conceded a penalty corner; this attacking opportunity from Dart was picked out of the sky by Oke keeper Westlake to deny Dart an equaliser.

Dart continued to press hard and they were rewarded with an equaliser. The away side had a further opportunity to extend their lead before half-time but Oke keeper Westlake slid out to take the ball and the half drew to a close with an even score of 1-1.

As the second half began, Oke took the game to the visitors; a quick ball out from defence released Bourne out wide who passed on to Speak; he won a penalty corner for Okehampton. The first shot was saved by the keeper but the second shot was fired into the back of the net by Luxton.

The away side bounced right back winning a penalty corner of their own which was despatched cleanly into the backboard.

The Okehampton side restarted and their captain Liversidge carried the ball into the away side half, passed on to Bourne at the top of the D who rifled the ball underneath the keeper’s feet, to take the lead and win the game for Okehampton.
