AIDAN Bostock and Ella Percival from Okehampton are continuing to prove themselves highly competitive judo players on the national stage.

Ella, aged 14, won bronze at the BJA Welsh Open Championships in the cadet category (U17s age group) fighting at under 57kg, narrowly losing only one fight against the eventual gold Medallist before an impressive ippon for bronze.

Aidan, 17, won bronze in the Heart of England Championships in the juniors (U20s age group). Fighting in the very competitive weight group of U66kg which had 48 entries. He won the first three fights all by ippon but then lost to Kyle Clark Harewood, second Dan by a wazari who went on to win gold. Aidan showed great control in the fight for bronze winning by an early score which he held throughout the fight.

The Okehampton pair train regularly at high performance Tamar Judo Centre in Saltash.
