THE Stover School Charity 5k run took place on a cold but sunny morning which showed off the glorious surroundings along the route to full advantage.

Okehampton Running Club's Jo Burrow, Louise Dennis and Hayley Phillips were taking part in their first race and ran round the off-road course in fine style. These three have all completed the recent beginners' course organised by the club.

Heroine of the day was former ORC member, Emma Cunnington, who, having recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, decided to deal with this in a very positive way; so, as a former pupil at Stover, she decided to enter this race.

Together with her husband Rob, old school friends and members of the running club, she had a great run round her old cross country course and finished with a big smile to the applause of her three children and all those who had come along to support.

Emma is raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. There is a collection box at the DIY Stores in Okehampton for donations.
