Devon and Exeter three

Sandford 1

SOUTH Zeal struggled early on to contain an in form Sandford side.

However as the first half wore on the visitors started to get into the game and the ever present threat of the non stop runner Darren Gilbert and Harley Cann started to give the Sandford defence problems.

With no score at half time South Zeal had the better of the second half but could not convert some good chances and with 15 minutes left Sandford took the lead when they broke through the centre; Oli Holman in the Zeal goal made a great close range save but the rebound fell nicely for an oncoming Sandford forward to score from close range. The visitors pushed on to try and get back and with 10 minutes left Dan Wakeham dribbled from one penalty area to the other and played a great ball to Harley Cann. who finished well from 10 yards the ball going in off the far post.

South Zeal pushed for the winner and it came five minutes from time after Scott Hooper and Ben Davey put Harley Cann through down the right; Cann cut in side and passed to Redd Cann 10 yards out and he made no mistake to give Zeal another well deserved three points.
