Devon and Exeter seven Cheriton Fitzpaine 0

South Zeal 1

SOUTH Zeal travelled to Cheriton Fitzpaine after two weeks off thanks to the weather not looking favourably on the South Zeal home pitch.

The team was obviously 'rusty' as Cheriton were in the ascendancy early on, with both teams working hard to gain control of the game.

Chances came and went for both sides, but not even Zeal top goalscorer Harley Cann could break the deadlock, so at half-time it remained 0-0.

South Zeal started brightly after the interval taking more care of the ball, with Ben Davey leading from the front. This extra control bore fruit 15 minutes into the half, when Harley Cann netted in a typically professional manner.

The game swung with both teams taking turns in ascendency. South Zeal though remained resolute and saw the remaining minutes out to claim the victory with yet another clean sheet.
