DEVON Vintage Car Club (DVCC) donated a total of £2,750 to Dartmoor Search and Rescue during a display of vintage and classic cars held at Erme Court, Ivybridge recently.

The sum was shared between the south and north branches of the charity.

Various cars displayed included a 1930’s Swift, 1947 Standard Flying 8, 1950’s Austins, a 1964 Morris Traveller, a Leige Gilbern and an MG Midget.

A spokesperson for the group said: ‘The event was well attended by the public, who viewed the unique vintage and classic cars on display and took many photographs.’

Rob White and Leslie Agar from Dartmoor Search and Rescue thanked DVCC for the donation.

Leslie added: ‘The sum donated will make a real difference to the work we are able to carry out. The south branch is going to use the donation to equip its new vehicle and the north branch is using it towards fitting out its new building.’

DVCC’s 2016 charities are: CHICKS holidays for deprived children, The Emergency Bikers and Credition Playgroup for children with difficulties.

The club looks forward to successful fundraising at its spring and autumn Autojumbles at Hatherleigh in 2016 and other events throughout the next year.
